DigiTwinPlan – Digital Building Twin from Planning to Operation

V

Co-funded by the European Union and the Free State of Saxony

Buildings consume a large share of energy, and much of the potential for efficiency is lost already during planning or later in operation. In the joint project DigiTwinPlan we close this gap: a digital building twin is meant to connect the planning, simulation and operation of a building end to end.

Our Goals

To this end, VICUS Software is further developing its planning and simulation software. The goals are:

  • generic building models that allow variants to be evaluated quickly and with little modelling effort,
  • the creation of digital twins that can be used from design through to building operation,
  • significantly better usability for planning offices, so that energy simulation becomes a standard tool in everyday planning.

As a result, planners should be able to develop energy-efficient building concepts earlier and on a sounder basis, and operators should be able to verify and secure the planned efficiency in real operation.

Duration: 01.09.2025 – 31.12.2027

Funding

The project is co-funded by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and supported by the Sächsische Aufbaubank – Förderbank – (SAB). The total cost of our sub-project is EUR 271,969.58, of which EUR 163,181.74 is covered by the funding.
